Greenhills Shopping Center

Greenhills Shopping Center is well-known for its “tiangge” or flea market. This shopping center has become a landmark and pride of San Juan City enticing Filipinos and even foreigners who visit the country. A lot of people come to Greenhills to buy stuff for personal use or presents for loved ones especially during the Christmas season because there are lots of variety to choose from and the prices are affordable.

Greenhills Shopping Center was initially part of the Hacienda de Mandaluyon which was later on sold to Ortigas and Company, who also own Capitol Commons in Pasig City. Coincidentally, there is also a night market in Capitol Commons during the holiday season.

Night Market

The Night Market

Greenhills Shopping Center adopted the Christmas on Display show of Manila COD in Araneta Center in Cubao but somehow wasn’t as popular as the original show. For this year, the shopping center opened a night market starting November 4 in its GStrip open parking to “bring back the wonderful spirit of Christmas”. Entrance to the night market is free.

Don’t worry about safety because there are policemen roving around the area. There are booths available for emergency too. Of course, always follow the rule of thumb when shopping: do not leave your valuable belongings unattended. You are still responsible for your own personal stuff.

What to do at the Night Market

Shop

This night market offers various commodities such as toys, houseware, apparel, and other gift items. It is indeed perfect for early Christmas shopping and bonding with family or friends.

Dine

Aside from shopping, visitors can also enjoy rows and rows of delicious food to satisfy every craving. They have everything from grilled meat, pasta, chicken wings, nachos, fries and even Korean food. And to quench thirst, you can choose from fruit juices, sodas and beers.

The night market has tables and chairs to which diners can stay for a while and enjoy their food.

Unwind

There are carnival games and rides inside the Greenhills Night Market for children and for the young-at-hearts. If you know “perya”, for sure you know too what kind of games and rides they are offering.

There is also a stage in the night market where different shows are performed. A living statue/mime was performing when we visited but I heard there were also other performers daily.

The Greenhills Night Market is open from 4:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. daily until January 8, 2023.
